Clinics And Other Services

These are provided by the Doctors and Practice Nurses.  If unsure please contact the Reception Team who will be happy to advise you about the correct appointment.
 
Smear Test

These are routinely performed by the Doctors and Practice Nurses.  When making an appointment please ask the Receptionist for a fifteen minutes slot.  Should you have not received your test result within 4 - 6 weeks please contact the practice.
 
Contraceptive Advice

Contraceptive advice and care is given by the Doctors, Nurse Practitioner and Practice Nursing Team.
 
Emergency Contraception

In-house contraceptive care is given by the Doctors, Nurse Practitioner and Practice Nursing Team.

IUCD (coil-fitting)

The delivery of this service is to be arranged with your doctor.

Contraceptive implant

The delivery of this service is to be arranged with your doctor.
 
Minor Surgery

The delivery of this service is to be arranged with your doctor.

Cryoclinic

Held on alternative Monday mornings 9 – 10 am. Referrals to this clinic are made by the doctor.

INR Clinics

A monitoring service for patients on Warfarin therapy is held at the practice on a Wednesday morning. Please talk to one of the Practice Nurses to see if you are suitable to attend.
 
Maternity Care
 
To arrange an appointment with the Community Midwife please call the Goole and District Hospital on 01405 720720 extension 4079.  The midwife will offer advice and guidance on maternity services available.
Antenatal and postnatal care is also offered by the doctors.
 
Child Immunisation/Child Health Surveillance
 
Held on a Wednesday afternoon between 2 - 3 pm.

Counsellor
 
Counselling Services are available at the practice.  Please see your doctor for a referral to be arranged.
 
Osteopath
 
Held on a Tuesday morning 8.30 - 12.30pm.  To arrange an appointment please contact Paul Cairns on 07736 430248. This is a private service and a fee will be charged by the osteopath.

Other Services at Howden Medical Centre

A dietician, physiotherapist and chiropodist visit the practice, ultrasound clinics are also held. All referrals are made by your doctor.

Medical Examinations

Insurance, Taxi, HGV, Pre-employment, Motor Sports, Diving medicals etc are performed at the practice. Please ask at reception for details and costs.

Immunisations and Foreign Travel

Immunisations and advice for routine and foreign travel are available from the practice. Please ask at reception for details on arranging an appointment.

Yellow Fever

The practice is a designated yellow fever vaccination centre.

Walking Club

Meet at the Shire Hall in Howden on a Thursday afternoon at 1.45pm. Please contact one of the Practice Nurses for details.
